Difference Between Vaping and Smoking Cannabis
Following a similar trajectory of tobacco’s evolution to e-cigarettes, cannabis vaporizing (or vaping) has become more and more commonplace over the last few years. Let’s take a deep dive into what is vaporizing and whether or not it’s a safe way to enjoy cannabis.
What is cannabis vaping?
In the simplest of terms, cannabis vaping is the inhaling of cannabis by a battery-powered heating device without the burning typically associated with smoking. As with cigarettes vs e-cigarettes, vaping cannabis is a modern alternative to traditional methods of smoking.
The difference between vaping and smoking cannabis
When you vape cannabis or hemp flower, active ingredients are released into the air in vapour form without the need for combustion (and therefore smoke) and typically inhaled through a mouthpiece or bag, resulting in an experience that may include more pronounced flavour, better temperature control and more efficient cannabinoid extracting, all without the need of a heat source or open flame. Traditional smoking requires combustion and might result in respiratory issues caused by the inhalation of smoke as well as collateral damage such as skin burns and/or other types of hazards associated with the use of an open flame.
