Sweet Tea Sparkling Apple Cider

In the mood for some (liquid) holiday cheer? So are we. Our friend The Nomad Cook helps out with his take on a simply perfect Apple Cider recipe.

We’re not sure about you, but here at Simply Bare we started decorating, making tasty treats and yummy drinks earlier in the month than usual. With that in mind, we’ve asked our friend Travis Petersen (aka The Nomad Cook) to help us get in the spirit with some holiday drinks inspired by BC Organic Apple Toffee.

This Sweet Tea Sparkling Apple Cider is exactly what the season calls for. Even better, it’s decadent and delicious and super easy to make at home. Here’s how.

  • 7oz apple cider
  • 5oz unsweetened black tea
  • 1 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 clove
  • Prosecco

Instructions

  1. Add the apple cider, chilled black tea, cinnamon and star anise to a pitcher.
  2. Chill in the fridge for an hour.
  3. Stir and then pour into champagne flutes.
  4. Top with Prosecco.

Chefs Prep Notes:

  • Make the unsweetened black tea and let it cool.
  • Combine with apple cider and spices in a pitcher and place in the fridge to chill for one hour.

Terpene Notes:

Terpenes are known as the aromatic properties giving cannabis its distinct smells, from floral and earthy notes to musky and citrusy ones. For instance, the terpene Caryophyllene found in Simply Bare’s BC Organic Apple Toffee cultivar is also present in many herbs and spices, including cinnamon, black pepper, basil, and oregano. Potential benefits associated with Caryophyllene include being antimicrobial, an analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Cannabis strains with high levels of Caryophyllene deliver a peppery, woody warmth to the nose, similar to cinnamon sticks in this recipe.
